Are you feeling well, energised and happy with the way your body feels on the inside and looks on the outside.
5 Ways To Make Yourself Feel Good
Throughout the year it is always a great to regularly review what works for your health and to build from there. Maybe it’s time to learn something like a musical instrument, or get to that dance class you have been meaning to start. Especially at the beginning of the year it is helpful to reinstate the things you love in your life.
Here are 5 useful ways to make yourself feel good
Drink at least 2 litres of water a day. Ideally drink a pint of water in the morning before any other food or drink. This hydrates you and cleanses your body to get you off to a good start. You need water and you need to drink a steady flow of it to stay hydrated. Your muscles and other parts of your body are like a sponge or the earth in a pot plant. If you let it dehydrate then when you have water it just goes straight through without absorbing. However, if you keep yourself hydrated consistently then you actually absorb more and keep the liquid in your system for longer. If you are someone who does not like water, then you can always have it warm, or add some lemon or mint to give some flavour. Remember water makes up 70-80% of your body. It is the most important medicine you will every take.
Create activities each week that help you to relax and exercise. Time out doing something you love gets the endorphins going and these chemicals are there to help you enjoy life. So make sure you have created ways to make this happen for yourself.
Get your time off for the year into your diary and plan everything else around it. Mentally we do better when we know we are giving ourselves the time and rest our body needs, away from our work routine. Even if it is time to stay at home and chill, psychologically you know you love to have something to look forward to, so give yourself the gift of it as soon as possible5 Ways To Make Yourself Feel Good.
Have a clear out. It is always energising to purge your life of things you no longer need to hold onto. Whether it’s clothes in your bedroom, or tupperware in your kitchen. What do you have lying around that does not serve you or give you joy. It is always good to sort through stuff and get in touch with what you have lying around that you don’t want or need. Maybe pass it on, or it’s passed it’s sell by date. There is nothing quite like the feeling of clearing out and regaining your space.
Check your budget and create an allowance for doing something you love. This may sound strange but it is actually very grounding to check through your finances at the beginning of the year, and work out what you have to spend on yourself, away from all the necessary outgoings. That way you can plan to do something really nice for yourself and have no excuse for not making it happen. Money can get in the way for some people and interestingly enough, your health is something that can take low priority when it comes to your finances. Actually, this is a false economy as the more we can invest in ourselves, the more productive and happy we become. So whether it is time or money, make a plan to invest in yourself, you will definitely thank yourself for it later on.
